Put aside the complaining and put that time to work. Complaining about a problem won’t solve it, stop wasting time whining – it won’t help you solve your problems and keeps you from achieving your goals.
I remember when my dad was diagnosed with cancer, given months to live, he didn’t complain or feel sorry for himself, he used his limited time to get business in order for my mom. When tempted to complain over trivial matters he comes to mind.
If you’re not the complainer, but find yourself the counselor to those who are, this also takes your energy away from taking care of business. Feel strong in yourself, knowing that you wouldn’t ever slight a friend, but set a boundary with the complainer “I’d rather not discuss that right now.” No need to explain to the one who needs to complain.
I live each day as if it’s the only one I have – I don’t want to be known as the complainer.
One day at a time…
